New Partnership - VistaFeet
We’re excited to announce our partnership with VistaFeet, a forward-thinking Swedish health-tech company focused on helping people living with diabetes monitor foot health and prevent complications. Their platform combines smart hardware and a user-friendly mobile app to detect early signs of inflammation in the feet — often before any visible symptoms appear.
At the heart of their offering is PedesHome, a unique device that measures temperature differences between the feet. Subtle changes in foot temperature can be early indicators of internal inflammation — and for those at risk of diabetic foot complications, that insight can be critical. The VistaFeet Home app captures and stores these readings, visualises them clearly, and allows users to track patterns over time, leave comments, and receive feedback on their results. This empowers users to make informed daily choices — like adjusting physical activity or footwear — and seek care before issues escalate.
Building a Stronger Foundation for Growth
As VistaFeet enters its next phase of growth, the team recognised the need to modernise their tech stack — and made the strategic decision to migrate their mobile application from Xamarin.Forms to .NET MAUI.
With Microsoft officially ending support for Xamarin in May 2024, continuing development on the legacy framework would mean mounting technical debt and limited flexibility going forward. .NET MAUI (Multi-platform App UI) provides a natural upgrade: a unified project structure, improved performance across platforms, and more direct access to native APIs — all essential for delivering reliable, real-time health insights across Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows.
But this migration isn’t just a matter of porting code. It involves deep refactoring, careful handling of hardware integration (including compatibility with VistaFeet’s PedesHome device), platform-specific UI adjustments, and ensuring the product continues to meet the reliability standards expected of digital health tools.
